About the Item

A beautiful French and Asian collaboration of a 19thC pair of Napoleon III Famille Rose porcelain, (from Canton China), and gilt bronze and brass oil lamps that miraculously include the original glass tube shades. The lamps are raised on an elegant round rococo gilt bronze base connecting to twin handled gilt bronze 'handles'. The lovely baluster shaped body of the vases display charming hand painted scenes of personages offering gifts to the Emperor amidst finely detailed floral and foliate movements. The lamps have been professionally cleaned and restored but one did have a hairline fracture at some point visible under ultra violet light.
