About the Item
This refined Early Modernist porcelain oval serving platter by Royal Crown Derby was realized in England, circa 1820. The center of the piece offers channeled forms resembling a stylized tree with a recessed central cylindrical trunk with arms of the same form extending outwards. The base of trunk connects to a demilune form that is also recessed. A miniature tree with undulating branches is hand-painted in the center of this recessed form in a rich cobalt hue. The border of the plate also features hand painted branch forms in cobalt, while the perimeter is is finished in 24Karat yellow gold decorated with a subtle geometric pattern. It is in excellent vintage condition.
