About the Item

Cup and saucer, attributed to the Parisian Manufacture à la Reine rue Thiroux. ca 1785-1790. Refined and elaborate decoration of flower festoons and gilt ornament. The manufacture was founded by André Leboeuf on September 9, 1776. In December 1778, Leboeuf announced that "The Queen willing to honor his protection and their establishment to allow his name to be worn, each piece newly manufactured will now be marked below A crowned, first letter of Her Majesty's (Marie-Antionette) name". It is also attested that in 1785 and 1786, the Rue Thiroux manufacture delivered porcelains to Marie-Antoinette for Fontainebleau, her small apartments in the Tuileries and her castle in Trianon. crowned A mark in gold to the underside Dimensions: The cup: 6 cm high, 5,5 cm diameter The saucer: 12,5 cm diameter Condition: Very good antique condition with minor wear.
