About the Item
An exceedingly rare set of six cups with saucers, whose beauty captures both the eye and the imagination. The hand-blown opaline glass cups are shaped as delicate tulip blossoms, their charm enhanced with finely hand-painted enamel decoration. Each cup carries a gracefully applied green glass handle – like slender stems sprouting from the flower itself.
The saucers, crafted in matching green glass, are shaped as leaves and adorned with gilded detailing. Time has bestowed them with a gentle patina, where parts of the gilding bear subtle wear from use – a testament to their age, authenticity, and unique character.
Together they form a harmonious interplay between the forms of nature and the highest level of craftsmanship. A splendid example of Bohemian glass from around 1900, where nature-inspired design and masterful execution meet in a playful yet sophisticated whole.
Measurements: Saucers approx. 12.5 × 11.5 cm. Cups approx. 5 cm high, diameter 6.5 cm.
