Jugtown Ware Pottery, 1978, Bird Motif Pie Plate. Decorated with a bird on a branch, butt to blue glaze. The mark created by Vernon Owens in 1972, cast from the first Jugtown stamp. 10.25" dia., 1.5" h. We are a family business that has been a major source for the selective buyer for over 90 years. The bowl's glaze transitions smoothly from a warm brown to a subtle green, adding depth and character to the piece. BIOGRAPHY Randy was born in 1913 and died in 1997. He obtained his MFA, Master's of Fine Art, at Alfred University in 1937 and was Instructor of Industrial Design 1949-1951, and Instructor in Pottery 1951-1956.
