About the Item

A stylish French Greber art pottery high fired lustre stoneware dish of shallow square form standing on an unglazed foot with oxidised metallic glazes. Made in Beauvais and probably by Charles Greber (1853-1935) the dish is impressed GREBER BEAUVAIS FRANCE to the base. Offered in good condition Charles Greber was a very well known potter, working in Beauvais, France in a pottery started by his father, primarily working in stoneware, bridging the Art Nouveau and Art Deco periods circa 1899-1933.
