About the Item
A good antique Victorian Copeland Cadogan pottery teapot decorated in treacle glazes and dating from around 1870. The teapot stands raised on a narrow oval shaped pedestal foot with a round ‘acorn finial’ shaped body with a loop handle and raised pouring spout. The body of the teapot is applied in relief with trailing fruiting stems with flowers and bearing peach like fruits. The teapot has a filling hole to the base through which boiling water is poured with the tea held in the pot and served through the spout. The teapot has various impressed marks to the base including COPELAND.
