One of the rarest Galle images the Bretton Fishing Fleet cameo vase -depicting a flotilla of manned fishing boats of many sizes and designs and incredible detail many with sails up and many with just rigging. Signed, intaglio cut, Provost MkVI c1925-36 -see 4th image and chart at end for dating. This an absolute tour-de-force of the cameo technique -partly done by acid cut back, but most of the fine outline work (rigging etc) is done by fine wheel cutting.
