About the Item
Stunning set of 10 sculptural ceramic Bertoncello vases from Italy, dating back to the 1960s.
The vases embody the characteristic features of Mid-Century Modern design with their clean lines, geometric shapes and innovative forms.
Bertoncello ceramics are best known for their modern, sculptural, organic shapes, which often feature rounded, recessed holes and integrated handles. All pieces are molded from white clay and many are finished with a distinctive brown-beige glaze known as 'Screziato' (speckled, mottled), of which there were two types: 'Screziato Tobacco' is more brown than beige, while 'Screziato Havana' is more beige than brown.
Bertoncello pieces are very sought after by collectors and enthusiasts of Italian mid-century design.
The vases have a height from 11 cm up to 31 cm.
Two of the vases are signed with a double R for Roberto Rigon.
Very good vintage condition
100% original condition.
