About the Item

Enthusiastically gathered over twenty five years, this collection of twenty eight jugs include some rare and fine examples. Many commemorate events or stories from the era of manufacture, including the Eglington Tournament in 1839, Tam 'O' Shanter, Babes in the Woods, including a custom made one for a Ralph Harrison in 1852. Others represent nature motifs that were popular in Victorian times, hunting scenes, seaweed, acorn and oak leaves, bullrushes etc. To be sold as a collection.
