About the Item

Edwardian Period, Russian Continental Silver (.840) fish set, Russia, Ca. 1910, service for 12, consisting of: 12 Continental Silver-handled fish knives, 12 Continental Silver-handled fish forks, and a large, Continental Silver- handled fish serving knife and fork. The handles of each piece are Russian Continental Silver (.840); the blade and fork part of each piece is matte finished and is made of gilt metal. The serving knife and serving fork each have a raised, round area that was used as a rest to stop the serving pieces from sliding off of the serving platter. Each of the 12 fish knives measures 8 3/4 inches high x approximately 3/4 inches deep; each of the 12 fish forks measures 8 3/4 inches high x approximately 3/4 inches deep. The serving fork is 9 3/4 inches long x 1 inch deep; the fish serving knife is 10 1/2 inches long x 1 inch deep. The handles of the set are weighted. There is minor wear on some of the pieces (see photos) that is commensurate with age and use. In good usable condition.
