From the Orchies Faïencerie in Saint-Armand-Les-Eaux, Northern France, a majolica glazed oval asparagus server, circa early 1900s.
Beautiful glazing – a deeper cradle shaped well comprised of a bunch of purple tipped white asparagus against a turquoise blue surface.
The wide rim resembles a woven basket with a scalloped edging, glazed in a soft brown.

Very good condition, with the light wear expected of faïence. Some glaze popping to the outer rim, a kiln effect in the making.
