About the Item
A rare pair of 18th century cushioned form entrée or vegetable dishes, with pinched in corners and a beaded rim. The raised lid is shaped up to the oval beaded handle. Both the body and lid are engraved with a contemporary coat-of-arms.
The bases are hallmarked for 1784 by Richard Carter, Daniel Smith and Robert Sharp, and the lids are hallmarked for 1792 by Robert Sharp.
These dishes are in very good condition, with some wear to the coat-of-arms and some usage scratches to the inside of the bases.
Excellent gauge and superb patina.
