About the Item
We are offering a set of a bamboo serving pieces (these 2 would have come together in a box) first we have one slotted serving spoon, made by Seki Hamono KK, a Japanese company known for producing flatware and knives. The spoon features a stainless steel head with a series of teardrop-shaped slots and a wooden handle, which appears to be made of real bamboo. The handle is attached to the head with a metal ferrule and a rivet. The "Seki Hamono KK" maker's mark is stamped on the metal part of the spoon.
Seki, located in the Gifu prefecture of Japan, has a long history of knifemaking, dating back over 700 years. The city is renowned for its craftsmanship and the quality of its blades. Seki Hamono KK is one of the companies that has contributed to this reputation, producing flatware with distinctive designs, often incorporating bamboo handles. These pieces are appealing to collectors and those who appreciate mid-century modern design.
