About the Item
A vintage tray most likely made in Italy between the 50s and 60s that winks at the style in vogue in the United States between the 20s and 50s inspired by Hollywood's Golden Era.
Gilding, chrome and lacquer, Every detail exudes luxury in the Hollywood Regency style and this unknown Italian company tries to reproduce those effects with the materials available in Italy in the post-war period: The brass is replaced by gold-plated and hammered aluminum, which creates with its reflective surface a splendid light effect and the ivory-colored plastic that covers the structure recalls a lacquer.
If the materials used are not the most precious, the difference in this piece is made by the design, as history teaches us, Italian genius for design is out of the question after the Second World War.
The frame of the tray in fact, made of bent gold-plated aluminum, continues after having surrounded the top creating two large handles to hold to carry it.
The tray is in good vintage condition but shows minimal signs of use and age. There are minimal signs of oxidation on the gold frame that forms the handles and a loss of gold plating on the top
