About the Item

A rare and beautifully handcrafted rattan tray from iconic Finnish design house Artek, dating from the 1950s–60s. This piece captures the essence of Nordic functionalism and natural beauty – lightweight, tactile, and perfectly balanced in form and function. Woven entirely by hand in natural rattan, the tray features a rectangular shape with softly rounded corners and integrated handles. The open weave design gives it a light and airy presence, ideal for serving, displaying objects, or simply adding texture and warmth to a modern interior. These trays were likely produced for Artek’s own retail offerings and echo the organic materiality and simplicity championed by Alvar Aalto. Dimensions: • Width: 30.5 cm • Length: 44 cm • Height: 5.5 cm Excellent vintage condition with a beautiful natural patina. A true collectible and a subtle statement of timeless design.
