About the Item
This antique art glass and silver plated biscuit barrel is unsigned, but presumed to have originated from Austria and done by one of the various contemporary art glass producers of Loetz and done in the period Edwardian style. The body of the biscuit barrel is done in a deep green glass with a square base and tapered rounded top. The green sides are covered in a draped with blue threading with strong iridescence and a few strands of gold or amber. The green and blue mix results in hues of green, blue and purple when the light hits it. The collar, top and handle are done in silver plate with a simple ball accent on the handle. Please not the dimensions posted below refer to the handle being in the up position.
