A fine early 20th-century English twelve-piece fish set, marked S.M.
Co. EPNS A1, presented in its original fitted wooden case with brass clasp. Each piece features engraved silver-plated blades and tines, complemented by elegantly tapered cream celluloid handles typical of Edwardian and late Victorian design.
The knife blades display scrolling foliate engraving with a distinctive shaped fish blade, while the forks carry a subtle shield motif to the shoulders. The “EPNS A1” mark denotes the highest standard of electroplated nickel silver, ensuring both beauty and durability. The fitted case, with beaded edge detailing and cream silk interior, retains its period charm and secures the service neatly within.
