About the Item
A striking example of American silverplate craftsmanship, this ornate shell-form serving dish was created by the International Silver Company and bears the EGW&S mark (E.G. Webster
Sons), one of the company’s historic subsidiaries. With its scalloped clam-shell body, deep repoussé ribbing, and scrolling rococo-style crest, this piece embodies the decorative exuberance of the late 19th to early 20th century silver revival period.
