Elegant hand made sterling silver entree with dish
The welded edge with Reed
Ribbon characterizes the Classic Luis XVI style.
The Louis XVI-era Reed
Ribbon collection features elegantly proportioned bundles of reed bound by crossed ribbons, culminated in delicate florets and acanthus leaves. This bundled motif began as the "fasces" in Etruscan and Roman designs, a bundle of rods tied around an axe as a symbol of authority and power, but was reinterpreted over time as a bundle of reeds representing strength through unity.
Italian silverware, already with a centuries-old tradition, had a great development in the twentieth century and produced pieces of the highest quality that the whole world envies. Italian craftsmanship had a kind of new Renaissance after the war.
A great many high-quality silverware was born where exceptional pieces were produced that now decorate the most prestigious houses.
