Set of 4 George V sterling silver place card holders. Made by Goldsmiths
Silversmiths in London in 1913. Each: An elephant with raised trunk and sharp tusks stands next to a palm tree. A cast group with back post clip mounted to round base. Raj-era table ornaments from the last year of peace. Engraved shaded block single-letter monogram (G). In original leather-bound case with fitted velvet; silk lining with gilt-stamped maker’s stamp. Fully marked.
Dimensions: H 3 x D 1 1/2 in. Case dimension: H 3 3/4 x L 8 1/4 x D 2 7/8 in. Weighted.
