About the Item
This is a stylish antique Edwardian sterling silver card case with hallmarks for Birmingham 1904 and the makers mark of the renowned silversmiths Deakin
Francis Ltd, in the original fitted case, retailed by Mappin
Webb.
The card case is of shaped rectangular form, embossed with floral, foliate
scroll decoration on a matted background, with two circular cartouches.
It is a truly lovely piece which would make a very unique business card holder.

Jonathan Mappin opened his first small silversmith workshop in Sheffield in 1774 and the following year the Mappin mark was entered at the assay office. From these humble beginnings the business grew steadily and soon the next generation were expanding the business further
The first store was opened in London in 1849 at 17 Fore Street and was soon followed by stores in Moorgate and King William Street. In 1858, following rapid expansion of the Sheffield factory, John Newton Mappin invited his brother-in-law, George Webb to join him in the business. The first association of Mappin

This is a lovely antique Victorian silver plated casket bearing the makers mark of the renowned silversmiths, Walker and Hall, Circa 1840 in date.
The square casket freatures an epic mythological scene of the four seasons with eight winged cherubs on the lid.
Each side features the four seasons: spring features a bull and a goddess, summer has a lion and a goddess, autumn has a scorpion and a goddess and winter has a cherub and goddess.
The interior of the box features its original quilted buttoned silk upholstery.
Add some elegance to your home with this lovely casket.
Condition:

the business was established in Sheffield in 1845 by George Walker who become an assistant of Dr John Wright. Dr John Wright had conducted important experiments on electroplating, Walker secured the royalty of electroplating for Sheffield.
The business was joined by Henry Hall and became in 1853 Walker & Hall. The factory was at Howard Street, Sheffield, while showrooms were opened in 45 Holborn Viaduct, London. Branches were opened in Liverpool, Manchester, Leeds, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Newcastle, Cardiff, Belfast, Hull, Bristol, Melbourne and Adelaide (Australia), Cape Town (South Africa).
Walker & Hall was converted into a limited liability company in 1920 under the style Walker & Hall Ltd and combined in 1963 under the British Silverware...

This is a highly decorative antique Victorian silver plated folding biscuit box, the base bearing the makers' mark of the renowned silversmiths Fenton Brothers of Sheffield, England, circa 1890 in date and bearing the Staniforth's Patent mark as well as the registration number 4467.
It has a beautifully shaped body sitting in a cast frame with remarkably chased branch supports and the original interior features elegant hand-pierced dividers.
It opens out into two halves and is held shut by gorgeous laurel wreath loose ring handles at the top.
This wonderful container could house anything from sweets to biscuits or trinkets.
Whatever you choose to store in this lovely item you are sure to do it in style.
Condition:
