About the Item
This antique tea strainer is hallmarked by an unknown maker, but originated from France and dates to approximately 1890 and done in a period Victorian style. The strainer is composed of Continental or .800 plus silver and is decorated with a raised lyre on one side and an owl between two torches on the other with a profile on the handle and a stylized vine motif border. The tea strainer is hallmarked in small capital letters on the bottom of the handle as well as the silver content.
