About the Item
A fine antique English christening cup or mug.
Made by Joseph Angell I of London, England in 1818.
In sterling silver.
With repousse grape vine decoration around the body, a figural cornucopia handle, a gilt interior, and a twisted acanthus leaf foot.
Joseph Angell was a key member of the important mid-19th century, London-based Angell silversmithing family.
The Angells were highly regarded in their day their high-quality work (on abundantly display in the example offered here).
Fully hallmarked to the side.
Simply a wonderful Late George III mug!

It is in overall good, as-pictured, used estate condition.
Condition Details:
There is a monogram removal with the remnants of engraved letters to the top band. Otherwise, there is some light edge wear, some light dings and indentations here and there, some fine and light surface scratches, and other signs of light wear consistent with age.
