An exceptional, fine and impressive pair of antique Georgian Irish sterling silver gravy spoons; an addition to our silver flatware collection.
This exceptional pair of antique George III Irish sterling silver gravy spoons have been crafted in the Celtic Point pattern.
The anterior surface of each spoon terminal is embellished with a contemporary bright cut engraved crest of a demi griffin holding a dagger.
The reverse of these silver spoons are plain and unembellished with rounded heels.
These impressive examples of Irish silverware are the finest of their type you could hope to acquire.
Condition
These antique Irish silver spoons are an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition. The bright cut engraved decoration is very crisp. Full hallmarks struck to the reverse of each stem are all very clear; the hallmarks are struck deeply due to the exceptional gauge of silver.

These exceptional and rare antique George IV English sterling silver tradesman/sample spoons* have been crafted in the Fiddle pattern.
The anterior surface of each spoon handle terminal incorporates the contemporary engraved initial 'MAG'.
The reverse of each 19th century spoon has a rounded heel and to a pip to the handle terminal.
By virtue of their size these versatile silver spoons could be used for a multitude of functions, including: pickle, mustard/condiment, small coffee spoon.
These exceptional and collectable spoons were crafted by the renowned London silversmith William Eaton.
NOTE: * Such a spoon would have been carried by a tradesman as a sample size, demonstrating at a small scale the pattern and quality of spoon available for production by the workshop.
