These exceptional George III sterling silver wine labels have a rectangular shaped form. Each bottle label is embellished with exceptional gadroon ornamentation to the rim, incorporating four scrolling leaf designs. This decoration incorporates a central rectangular cartouche, each engraved with the desirable inscriptions: 'Madeira', 'Claret', and 'Sauterne'. This elucidating decoration is surmounted with a contemporary engraved crest depicting out of a Ducal coronet five ostrich plumes and a demi-eagle with wings extended. An exceptional, fine and impressive, pair of antique Georgian English sterling silver bottle labels / tickets made by Hester Bateman; part of our wine related silverware collection. These exceptional and collectable George III sterling silver wine labels have a curvilinear ovoid-shaped form. These antique silver labels / tickets are ornamented with a bright cut engraved and pin struck scrolling designs accented with gadroon decorated scrolling leaf motifs paralleling the borders. The body of each label is engraved with the individual wine or spirit: 'Port' and 'Hock'. The upper portion of each label features a circular cartouche ornamented with the contemporary bright cut engraved crest of a demi-lion, holding between the paws a roundel. These Georgian silver bottle labels are suspended by two ring loops and connected by silver round link chains.
