An exceptional, fine and impressive pair of antique Edwardian English sterling silver pepper grinders - boxed; an addition to our collectable silver collection. These exceptional antique sterling silver pepper grinders have a circular baluster shaped form. The surface of each pepper is plain and the lower portion is embellished with a contemporary bright cut engraved crest depicting out of a ducal coronet a horse's head*. These impressive silver peppers retain the original hallmarked circular rounded covers, each surmounted by the functional sterling silver finial; this allows access to permit the grinder to be filled. The underside of each grinder retains the original serrated grille and horizontal securing bar. These exceptional Edwardian peppers are fitted to the original presentation box, with a satin and velvet lined interior and securing with a push fit catch; this box is a fine feature of the pair of peppers. The interior of the box bears the retailer's mark 'Gowland Bros, 48 Cornhill'. The lower cylindrical portion of the body is embellished with the contemporary bright cut engraved Roman numerals 'XXIX' - 29. The pepper is fitted with the original hallmarked push fit cover modelled in the form of a foil capped champagne cork embellished with pierced 'pepper' holes subdivided by an integrated wire muselet/wirehood indentation design. An exceptional, fine and impressive antique George V English sterling silver pepper Shaker made by Liberty & Co Ltd in the Arts & Crafts style; an addition to our silver cruets or condiments collection. This exceptional antique George V sterling silver pepper Shaker has a tapering, rounded cylindrical shaped form with a swept domed foot. The body of this exceptional pepper is encircled with two applied bands of tiered leaf designs embellished with impressive two-toned enamel, all in the iconic Arts & Crafts style. The pepper is fitted with the original hallmarked screw fit cover with pierced 'pepper' holes to the domed portion. This exceptional example of antique silverware was crafted by the renowned silversmith Liberty & Co Ltd. Condition This antique pepper is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in excellent condition. The enamel is in prefect condition. Full hallmarks struck to the underside of the body are all very clear. A fine and impressive, unusual antique Victorian English sterling silver novelty pepper shaker; an addition to our diverse silverware collection. This fine antique Victorian sterling silver novelty pepper has a plain ovoid shaped form. The body of the pepper is embellished with impressive chased decoration depicting a cracked egg shell with a boy’s face and hands to the anterior surface and his feet and buttocks to the reverse. The body has pierced 'pepper' holes in a hexagram formation to the upper portion. This pepper retains the original fully hallmarked screw fit weighted base; which when unscrewed provides access to permit the pot to be filled. This novelty pepper is a fine example of its type.
