A magnificent Sterling Silver Lidded Cup in the style of a 17th Century Charles II Porringer. The Body and Lid of the Porringer are embellished with beautiful chased patterns featuring stylised foliate designs. The Lid of the Porringer has an impressive finial mirroring the leafs of the chasing and topped with four faces. Perfect as a centrepiece or display, the porringer is also of a size to be used as a Champagne or Win Cooler. Made in London, England in 1893 by Frazer Haws. Approx. Weight - 2320g / 74.6oz Approx. Height - 28.8cm Approx. Width incl Handles - 36.2cm Approx. Diameter at Rim - 23.1cm This Silver Porringer and the Lid both have Full English Hallmarks. An exceptional, fine and impressive antique William III English sterling silver porringer with cover; an addition to our 17th century silverware collection. This exceptional antique William III sterling silver porringer with cover has a plain rounded cylindrical form onto a circular spreading foot. The lower portion of the body is encircled with an exceptional band of chased alternating leaf designs. The body is further ornamented with the contemporary engraved initials 'WSM'. This cup retains the original hallmarked domed push fit cover embellished with a large chased stylized leaf motif in a swirl design. The cover is surmounted by an exceptional cast leaf decorated sterling silver bud style finial. This fine silver porringer with cover is fitted with two exceptional cast and applied S-scroll handles. This exceptional antique Victorian sterling silver mustard pot has a plain circular form. The body of the mustard pot is encompassed with an exceptional and impressive band of bright cut engraved interlacing decoration accented with a simplified leaf motif. The decoration to the body incorporates a contemporary bright cut engraved crest depicting an eagle rousant, with wings addorsed and inverted, collared and chained, with an unidentified charge. The upper and lower rims of this fine example of Victorian silverware are ornamented with an impressive applied bead decorated border. This mustard pot is fitted with a domed hinged hallmarked cover encircled with an exceptional interlacing eight-pointed star motif with a central floral design. The cover is surmounted with an impressive sterling silver applied leaf thumb piece. This exceptional example of antique silverware has a plain shaped handle with a scrolling thumb piece. This exceptional, fine and impressive antique Victorian sterling silver mustard pot has a cylindrical form with a plain circular spreading foot. The body of the mustard pot is embellished with pierced decorated conjoined scrolling designs, accented with four chased decorated masks anchoring pensile drop fruiting arrangements. The upper and lower rims of this mustard pot are ornamented with applied, moulded thread decorated borders. This fine Victorian silver mustard pot retains the original hallmarked hinged cover surmounted with an impressive cast silver finial and leaf decorated thumbpiece. The surface of the cover is encircled with further chased decorated fruiting arrangements on a matte background, and incorporates a scroll bordered vacant shaped cartouche to either side.
