About the Item

An elegant silver sugar bowl with an oval base form, standing on four animal feet, straight body slightly flared upwards with openwork decoration in relief, divided into six segments by pilasters, two putti flank a cartouche decorated with a ribbon at the front and back centers, on each side, lavish festoons with grapes and fruit, bordered by relief bands at the top and bottom, two side handles shaped like raised ribbons, fluted, domed lid featuring decorative relief bands, a palm leaf rosette, and a plastic pine cone finial. Original cobalt blue glass insert. Dimensions: Height: 13,0 cm / 5.11 in Width: 19,0 cm / 7.48 in Depth: 11,0 cm / 4.33 in Silver weight: 285 grams / 9.16 troy oz Hallmarks: - Minerva Head - 'Minerve casquée', French official hallmark for 950 Silver 1838-1973 - Lozegne mark - Master's mark rubbed, 'G' readable Made around 1900 Condition: Very well maintained - Silver cleaned and polished, Glass with barely visible signs of wear on the upper edge.
