About the Item

This antique parcel-gilt sterling silver brandy tester was made by silversmith Martin Heuglin II of Augsburg Germany in 1670 in the Baroque style. This tester has a very simple banded decoration around the rim and a gilt finish on the interior of the bowl and a period styled handle. This brandy tester is clearly hallmarked with the Augsberg markings and letters "HM" for Martin Heuglin II.
