Fabulous French sterling silver cut crystal claret jug, Ewer, Decanter Head of Minerve 1st titre for 950/1000 French Sterling Silver guarantee. Exceptional French sterling silver and cut crystal claret jug, ewer, decanter mounted with sterling silver 950/1000. The crystal body and the sterling silver parts are engraved with Art Nouveau pattern: Iris, violets and thistles motifs. No monograms. An exceptional piece from the point of view of its design and particularly the quality of engraving and naturalistic decorations. Its manufacture would have necessitated many more hours work than usual. Undoubtedly collectibles! Prestigious silversmith : Louis Coignet. 20 rue Barbette - Paris. He was active from January 14, 1893 to January 17, 1928. Measure: 11"6 ( 29.5 cm ) height. Weight: 817 grams. The condition is very good. Micro-scratches from normal use. No chips, no dents or damage. No deposit in the decanter. This piece over 100 years seems to have been little or no use. A master silversmith made a complete cleaning polishing.
