About the Item

An exceptionally early and rare Georg Jensen silver fish platter along with mazarine #206, designed by Georg Jensen in 1918. This piece originates from the same year of its design and is one of the first ever created. It boasts a generously sized oval shape, skillfully handcrafted with hammered silver, and adorned with eight exquisitely chased flowers encircling the rim. Surrounding the platter’s exterior is a graceful stem connecting each flower. The mazarine, meticulously hand-cut, showcases an unparalleled level of intricate detail, making it one of the most refined pieces we’ve encountered. To facilitate lifting the mazarine, two round loop handles are elegantly mounted on stylized shells positioned at each end. The sheer craftsmanship involved in producing this masterpiece would have required months of dedicated work by an experienced silversmith. Dimensions: L: 23″ (58 cm) W: 11 1/2″ (29 cm) Weight: 2250 Grams (79.36oz.) Hallmarks: Antique Georg Jensen Hallmarks from 1915-1919 and date stamped 1918, 830s, also marked with Swedish import marks.
