About the Item
AN EXTREMELY RARE GEORGE III APPLE CORER WHICH WAS MADE IN LONDON CIRCA 1786-90 BY HAMPSTON
PRINCE.
The Corer has a tubular form with a reeded band where the blade meets the handle. The canon handle has a drop at the end and this piece is in most excellent condition. The underside of the blade is marked with the sterling mark, duty mark and cruciform maker's mark of Hampston
Prince. Apple Corers from London are not common, however to find one from the provincial centre of York is very unusual.
