About the Item
The Grecian pattern originated in the year 1877 with Henry Hebbard of New York City, but eventually became a line pattern within Whiting.
The design features a raised ram's head at the handle end, and a satyr's face and ivy leaf and berry set midway on the handle, with an expanded ivy motif on the backside heel of the bowl.
Rare Grecian by Whiting sterling silver Flatware set - 23 pieces (plus 8 Mother of Pearl handle Knives). This set includes:
8 Knives, w/ Mother of Pearl handle, 8 5/8" (not Whiting)
8 Dinner Size Forks, 7 3/4"
8 Teaspoons, 6"
6 Large Dinner/ Serving Spoons, 8"
1 Sugar Spoon, shell bowl, gold-washed, 6 3/4"
Includes bonus brand new storage chest - styles vary.
Fabulous condition, with no monograms (except for the sugar spoon, which has a monogram, as shown). This set will be lightly polished and sealed in plastic sleeves prior to shipping. Beautiful!
