About the Item
A very stylish and fine quality mid-century silver lidded sugar bowl by renowned Swedish maker Hugo Grün
Co and dated 1948. The bowl of round cylindrical shape stands raised on a narrow round foot rim with a fitted and slightly overlapping cover with a central composite silver mounted handle and with a small edge cut to facilitate a sugar spoon. The pot has simple undulating linear patterning around a narrow-raised edge to the base and upper edge of the bowl with a similar pattern repeated around the edge of the handle. The bowl and cover have impressed Swedish silver assay marks with date code for 1948. Both pieces also have impressed makers marks HGR for Hugo Grün
Co. A stunning item and wonderful piece for use and/or display.
Provenance: Acquired from the UK Art Market.
In good condition with light wear associated with age and use.
