Elegant cutlery set made of solid silver for 12 people, consisting of 125 parts, in wooden display cabinet. Dating: Circa 1910 Material: Massive silver '800', Solingen steel blades Form type: Very elegant, simple decor with slender, indented ridges, widening in a subtle curve and ending in handles with bevelled corners, surrounding profile and partially elaborately chiseled Art Nouveau details also on the back of the cutlery pieces, see fish cutlery and serving pieces. The curved shapes without straight lines appear particularly fine and appealing. Without monogram. Table display cabinet: This silver cutlery set is stored in a solid wood box with faceted glazing on the top and three compartments, each with two brass knobs as handles. KLINKOSCH VIENNA J.A.HENCKELS ZWILLINGSWERK - Solingen Germany, steel blades JOSEPH CARL KLINKOSCH (1822-1888) had been taught by his father Carl who had owned the silver manufactory 'Mayerhofer Klinkosch', having been founded in the year 1830 by Stephan Mayerhofer and Carl Klinkosch: The manufactory Mayerhofer Klinkosch had been one of the most successfull silver manufactories of the Old Imperial Austria. There was a change in the year 1869 when the son Josef Carl Klinkosch became single owner of the manufactory - the company's name was changed into: 'Gold-, Silber- und Metallwaren-Fabrik J. C. Klinkosch'. The company's success remained the same: Josef Carl Klinkosch worked as a purveyor of the Austrian Emperor as his father had done and received numerous orders from his nobility.
