An exceptional, fine and impressive antique George V English sterling silver porringer made by Lambert
Co.
This exceptional antique George V sterling silver porringer has a plain inverted bell shaped form onto a collect base, all in the Classic 17th century style.
The surface of this porringer is embellished with impressive engraved stylized foliate decoration accented with stork style birds.
The porringer is fitted with two impressive cast sterling silver S-scroll handles ornamented with plain scrolling details.
The underside of this antique porringer is encircled with the contemporary engraved presentation inscription 'To Peter Hugh Dudley-Ryder, April 28th 1913 from his Godmother Alice Mary Godman'.
This exceptional example of George V silverware was crafted by the renowned London silversmith Herbert Charles Lambert of Lambert
Co and bears the retailer's mark 'Lambert, Coventry St London' to the underside.
Condition
This antique sterling silver porringer bowl is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition. There are some natural fire marks to the surface of the porringer, in keeping with age. The engraved decoration is all very crisp. Full hallmarks struck to the surface of the porringer are all very clear, the hallmarks are struck deeply due to the exceptional gauge of silver.

An exceptional, fine and impressive antique Charles II English sterling silver porringer; part of our collectable silverware collection.
This exceptional antique Charles II sterling silver porringer has a circular rounded form onto a collet base.
The surface of the porringer is embellished with an impressive chased hunting hound to one side and a stag to the other, all amidst large foliate designs and incorporating pinstruck swirl designs.
This English silver porringer is fitted with two impressive cast, leaf decorated S-scroll handles with elevated figural shaped thumbpieces.
Note: After surviving the Great Fire of London the records at the London Assay office were destroyed by fire in 1681; their catalogues and documentation began again in 1697. Due to this unfortunate event we are unable to associate a maker to this porringer.
