About the Item

Large festive silver centerpiece on a wide foot, supported by four feet with double lion paws and volute decoration, the lower edge bordered by a surrounding band with chased acanthus leaf decoration, slightly fluted central zone of the foot with satin finish and fine chased volutes and feather leaves with flowers, above it circulating band with chased bar decor, emerging from it small round pedestal with lateral volute and floral decoration as a base for a vase-shaped baluster with foot, decorated with repeating acanthus leaf and rod decor rims, on the front and back finely chased leaf and flower festoons, vertical band with chased feather leaf decor and applied plastic mascarons, laterally set handles in the form of raised volutes, filled with decorations, above the vase after a constriction funnel-shaped widening with acanthus leaf rim and with connecting piece for the glass bowl. All surfaces executed with satin finish, trims and decorative elements smooth and partly gilded. Original glass top bowl with decorative lenticular cut and incised bands, upper rim with four cut out arches. J.H.HEIMERDINGER - for 'Julius Herz Heimerdinger' Wiesbaden, Germany Jeweler, Sales The jewelry store was founded in 1843 by Julius Herz, a gold worker from Schlierstein, in the lower Webergasse in Wiesbaden. His descendants were purveyors to the court and established the fame of their company. When Bruno Netter married Anna Herz in 1913, he also took over the business (Netter-Herz Heimerdinger) Condition: very well maintained, silver cleaned and polished, original glass undamaged.
