About the Item

A pair of magnificent Antique George III Sterling Silver Sauce Tureens with ornate Rococo style chasing embellishing the body and lid of the Tureens. The Silver Tureens stand on 4 opulent feel supporting the body which features an intricate chased design surrounding a shaped cartouche. This chasing shows stylised shell designs and images of birds and lobsters. The lids of the Tureens have impressive finials surrounded by a chased border of scroll and foliate patterning. The handles of the tureens are designed to looked liked shaped branches. Made in London, England in 1810 by William Pitts. Approx. Total Weight - 2294g / 73.76oz Approx. Length - 21.7cm Approx. Width - 12.8cm Approx. Height - 18cm Each Sauce Tureen has a full English Hallmark. These Georgian Silver Tureens are in excellent condition with no damage STOCK CODE - DIN01 GEO01
