About the Item

Pair of Spoons Sterling Silver Patterned "Princess Mary" 1922 by Wallace Silver. The origins of Wallace Silversmiths can be attributed to Robert Wallace, who crafted the inaugural nickel spoon in the United States in 1835. At one point, he provided spoons to Horace Wilcox, the pioneer behind International Silver, for vending from his traveling wagon. The histories of these two enterprises intersect once more in 1986 and 1988, when the Syratech Corporation acquired both firms and moved their operations to East Boston, Massachusetts.
