Rare and exceptional example of early russian Judaica, this torah shield or tas is made From 84 silver, has the marks of the city of saint Petersburg, together with the makers Mark of Michael Karpinsky and the date of 1835, Judaica objects from Russia is very rare, Especially from this early date, saint Petersburg jewish community was very small Because of the Jewish settlement was largely restricted.
