About the Item

A fine set of 6 antique American silver teaspoons. In coin silver. By Joseph Shoemaker, a American silversmith who was active in Philadelphia ca. 1793 - 1829. Each with oval bowls with broad drops, chamfered shoulders, and fiddle handles with a short back midrib. Monogrammed to each of the handles in cursive script for for 'P.S.B.' Simply a wonderful set of antique American coin silver teaspooons! Date: Early 19th Century Overall Condition: They are in overall good, as-pictured, used estate condition. Ebay Category: There are light dings and indentions (mostly particularly to the bowls), some light bends, some light edge wear, some fine light surface scratches and other signs of expected light wear consistent with age. Maker: Joseph Shoemaker Marks: Marked to the reverse of the handles with a rectangle maker's mark either J. Shoemaker or Shoemaker Fineness: Unmarked for silver fineness.
