About the Item
A celebratory and finely crafted repoussé silver pendant by renowned Jewish-American silversmith Henryk Winograd, this expressive piece is shaped in a classic diamond form, thick and stepped to lend a dimensional presence.
At the heart of the pendant is the Hebrew phrase “מזל טוב” (Mazel Tov), prominently rendered in raised, stylized lettering. A traditional Jewish congratulatory expression meaning “Good Luck” or “Congratulations,” the phrase is set within a richly ornate framework of flowing scrolls and foliate leaves, all in the Art Nouveau manner.
The background surface is deeply pockmarked, extending throughout the center and trailing down into the border edges, evoking a stone-like, earthy texture that contrasts beautifully with the refined raised elements. The visual depth and tactile richness create a dynamic interplay of light and shadow across the pendant’s face.
A small pierced hole at the top, fitted with a silver loop, allows the pendant to be worn as a personal token of blessing and celebration—perfect for weddings, Bar/Bat Mitzvahs, or other joyous milestones.
