About the Item
This refined sterling silver–mounted crystal ice bucket (or serving bowl) is a handsome example of classic American tableware, combining the brilliance of deeply cut crystal with the architectural strength of solid sterling silver.
The crystal body is expertly cut with a radiant starburst base, sending sharp, prismatic light upward through the bowl. The walls are adorned with engraved floral and foliate motifs, lending softness and traditional elegance to what is otherwise a bold, functional form. Integrated crystal handles on either side provide both balance and ease of use, seamlessly incorporated into the design rather than applied as an afterthought.
Encircling the bowl is a substantial sterling silver gallery, beautifully executed with an open pierced lattice pattern. This pierced band not only lightens the visual weight of the silver but also allows the crystal to remain the star of the show—an old-school design principle when silver knew its role and played it well. The silver rim and base ring are crisply finished, providing structural integrity and a refined frame.
