Charming and finely crafted pair of sterling silver turtle earrings designed and handmade by Emilia Castillo, Taxco, Mexico. Emilia Castillo, daughter of Emilia and Antonio Castillo, continues the legacy of the renowned Los Castillo silversmithing dynasty of Taxco, whose workshop was among the most influential in 20th-century Mexican design. Her work bridges traditional Mexican silver artistry with contemporary organic motifs, often inspired by nature and rendered in precious metals and semi-precious inlays.
These earrings are a fine example of her early work, showing both the influence of her father’s generation and her own design sensibility — elegant, playful, and rooted in the beauty of the natural world.
