A very attractive
heavy pair of Mid-19th century sterling silver sauce ladles.
Both cast in the seldom seen ‘Victoria’ pattern, with deep welled oval bowls rising to foliate shouldered stems with foliate
scroll sculpted terminals.
The reverse of the bowls showing heels with richly cast foliate motifs, the stems bearing London hallmarks with date letter for 1840 and makers marks for Samuel Hayne
Dudley Carter.
Both measuring 7.25” long x 2.5" wide across the bowl x 1.25" high (from the heel to the tip).
Weighing a significant combined weight of 180 grams or 5.78 troy ounces.
