An exceptional, fine and impressive antique Victorian English sterling silver novelty pepper Shaker in the form of a champagne bottle; an addition to our silver cruets/condiments collection.
This exceptional antique Victorian sterling silver pepper has a cylindrical shaped form realistically modelled in the form of a champagne bottle.
The lower cylindrical portion of the body is embellished with the contemporary bright cut engraved Roman numerals 'XXIX' - 29.
The pepper is fitted with the original hallmarked push fit cover modelled in the form of a foil capped champagne cork embellished with pierced 'pepper' holes subdivided by an integrated wire muselet/wirehood indentation design.
The underside of this impressive sterling silver pepper bears the retailer's mark 'Jones, London
Paris'.
Condition
This antique pepper is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in excellent condition. There are some natural fire marks to the surface of the pepper, in keeping with age. Full hallmarks struck to the surface of the body and part hallmarks to the cover are all very clear.

The lower portion of this sugar caster is embellished with embossed convex batwing decoration in a swirl design.
This large, silver caster retains the original hallmarked push fit cover, embellished with impressive pierced scroll, floral and leaf designs below further embossed batwing decoration to the upper portion.
