About the Item
An exceptional, fine and impressive vintage Elizabeth II English sterling silver character christening mug in the Art Deco style; an addition to our silver christening gifts collection.
This exceptional vintage Elizabeth II sterling silver christening mug has a plain bell shaped form onto a circular spreading foot.
The surface of the mug is embellished with an impressive engraved illustration depicting a simplified dining table scene with three characters above the elucidating words 'Daddy,' 'Mummy' and 'Me.'
The lower portion of the body is embellished with plain stepped decoration in the Art Deco style.
This mug is fitted with an angular Art Deco style handle incorporating a subtly curved tapering thumbpiece.
The underside of the Art Deco style stepped base bears the retailer's mark 'Harrods, London S.W.' in addition to the registration number 1200.
Condition
This vintage silver christening mug is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition. The mug has been professionally polished and is in presentation condition. The engraved decoration is all very crisp. Full hallmarks struck to the underside of the mug are all very clear.
