An exceptional, fine and impressive, vintage English cast sterling silver owl mustard pot; an addition to our collectable owl silverware collection. This exceptional, fine and impressive vintage cast sterling silver mustard pot has been realistically modelled in the form of an owl/owlet; replicating examples from the Victorian period. This impressive vintage silver mustard pot is embellished with decoration reproducing the details of the bird's plumage and anatomical features. This fine silver owl mustard pot is fitted with a hinged cover/head, further ornamented with the original bead eyes. The original cast silver spoon has a plain rounded form and mouse decorated terminal. The spoon retains the original gilding to the bowl. The protruding beak to the cover comprises a functional thumbpiece and allows the handle terminal to sit securely to one side. Condition This vintage owl mustard pot in sterling silver is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition. Full hallmarks struck to the tail of the owl, in addition to part hallmarks to the bowl of the spoon are all very clear; the full hallmarks have been deeply struck within the decoration due to the exceptional gauge of silver. Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this vintage condiment vessel.
