About the Item

The outstanding historical antique Meissen's Blue Onion pattern decoration was originally created around 1730, inspired by East Asian models from the Ming dynasty. This very dinner plate – here as wall plate –, hand painted and hand crafted, has been made around 1880, the so called ''Knaufzeit''. The Meissen swords are also displayed in the front decoration close to the roots (image #3). A true classic, intricately reticulated, a then almost magical achievement. Marked with the Meissen swords crossed, showing the ''knobs'' clearly. Further paint marks and press marks as per imagery.
